8 new infected (5 exclusive to thier campaign) plus the old ones. (charger-tank like infected put slightly weaker and faster; spitter-smoker like infected but spits acid instead of strangling you. also explodes into acid when killed; jockey-pounces on your head and requires you to move around erratically to get it off; hazmat common infected-wears a hazmat suit and resistant to fire;

Nissa was made wrong
Let's make this clear ahead of time: I love elves.
I've had an elf deck as long as I can remember playing magic. i still have it and it's one of my best decks.
i was excited when they announced an elf planeswalker was coming out in zendikar. i had high expectations as elves already are a great tribe.
however Nissa Revane has no place in my elf deck.
for those who don't know, she was previewed today on magicthegathering.com

+1: Search your library for a card named Nissa's Chosen and put it onto the battlefield. then shuffle your library.

my problems with Nissa?
1. She's not an Elf. Hey, I think if it has pointy ears, it should make me gain 1 more life with Wellwisher, and bounce too Wirewood Symbiote. (I have this problem with Sorin, Nicol, and Ajani also)
2. She's too damn fragile. She has the lowest starting loyalty of any other planeswalker. And she doesn't even have a +2 ability too compensate for it like Jace! Also guess what they just reprinted. A little card called LIGHTNING BOLT. I don't want too wait 2 turns, praying that my opponent doesn't have any burn. And also it's hard to prevent damage to her. She can't be bounced with a Symbiote. She can't be pumped with a Timberwatch. Those two methods are how Elf decks stop things from dying.
3. Specific card search. Granted the card she searches for isn't half bad. An Elvish Warrior that is endlessly searched for is awesome. However if it was any Elf that costs 2 or less I'd be happier then an Atog in a Scrapyard. Beggars can't be choosers though.
4. Gaining 2 life for each elf you own. Great. An ability that encourages everyone at the table too bash my head in. Still its pretty good. Oh wait. You control. Wellwisher was awesome because it also counted your opponent's Elves, was cheap, common, counted itself in it's own ability, could have more then one in play at a time, and you could play it's ability multiple times if you could untap it. Nissa can't do any of these things. sorry but i'll stick with the card i already have 2 playsets of.
5. The ultimate ability. If by some miracle Nissa receives no damage, the quickest you can use her ability is 5 turns later, or around turn 8 in an elf deck. Now my Elf deck can play the entire library, gains infinite life, attacks with infinite overkill/overkill Creatures, and Hurricanes for lethal all by turn 5 (perfect draw). Nissa is too slow for my deck. even with Doubling Season. Oh and you know what sucks after using her final ability? MASS REMOVAL. this ability could have been so much more. hell i would have taken a "Coat of Elves" effect (if it costed less loyalty) over this. And I hate Coat of Arms!
Move over Liliana, Nissa is now the weakest planeswalker printed too date.

IT'S A TRAP!
some zendikar info has leaked and only a few things are known, but i thought i'd compile them.
1: there are 5 or more planeswalkers in this set. Nissa Revane and Chandra (a new version) are confirmed. Each one is monocolored.
2: Kicker returns.
3: there's a new instant type-Trap. what it does is unsure yet.
4: Kor, Sphinxes, Soldiers, Dragons, Humans, Elves, Clerics, Beasts, Vampires and angels will be in this set.
5: magic is supposed too work differently on Zendikar then anywhere else in the multiverse. however it is supposed to be very powerful.
6: new ability- Landfall-Whenever a land enters the Battlefield under your control [effect].
7: extended art lands.
8: M10 tribes should get support from Zendikar.
9: Poison maybe returning in this block. either that or the next block.
10: zendikar seems to have a "playing spells" theme.
11: "free" alternate cost spells return (quite possibly what 'trap' refers too, as both things appear on the same card)

Youtube
it now OFFICIALLY SUCKS.
forced advertisements in front of videos? come on. the pop up during the video shit was annoying enough. i can understand this with hulu as they use actual copyritten shows but youtube? they don't allow that. that stopped around the time google bought it and they started blowing.
plus it seems that most videos MUST be watched in widescreen HD. which makes loading times stupid long.
so with this last update, youtube blows chunks. i've only been using it to watch machinima lately (due to machinima.com never seeming to completely load a video recently. and by "not completely load" i mean "the first three second sof the film only") however with crappier and crappier machinima coming out lately (maSHITima. term i made. you heard it hear first people.) i'm not even sure if its worth continuing watching.
also shot out to Josh. visit his new blog here!
edit: to all those who will be smartasses and say "well there is a way to shot ads off on youtube. simply opt out." i say falsities! i even installed the optout cookie and you know what? it doesn't stop them.
the only thing i found that works is setting your adobe flash settings for allowing no installation, and even then you will see the adobe flash program asking if you want to let youtube show you something at least twice a video.

does radical entertainment think they're funny?
Prototype offers the following achievement:
Trail of Corpses (30G): Kill 53,596 infected.
that number may look familiar to those who have played Left 4 Dead.
Zombie Genecidist (30G): Kill 53,595 infected.
what is this, a "my achievement is bigger then yours" contest. its hard enough in left 4 dead to get that many kills, let alone in prototype there aren't as many zombies at one time.
same goes with the original Gears of War
Gears: 10,000 ranked
the Club: 10,001 ranked
BF: Bad Company: 10,002 ranked
come on people... this isn't a contest, and if it was Gears 2 wins with 100,000 kills.
stop making achievements thinking people will only play your game.
unless your halo.

update
sorry i haven't posted in forever.
i just dont have enough followers or people reading this to post frequently...
thing i learned over the past month:
alara reborn kicks ass. definately the best set of the block. they even reprinted meddling mage!
the meta game has changed greatly in the past two weeks from blightning, faeries, and dark bant; to zoo, red deck wins, and tokens.
i got in the top 60 in regionals with my bant deck. good for a casual budget deck that had no hope in taking gold.
sanity grinding+ (twincast x 2) = :'(
divine deck is unusally slow.
in demonic deck (i modded mine slightly, this actually happened in a game) one of the best plays is a turn 1 Duress, a Turn 2 Demonic Tutor for Promise of Power, a turn 3 Overeager Apperentice, followed by a turn 4 Double Dark Ritual, a Promise of Power entwined (putting a 9/9 token in play) drawing another Dark Ritual letting me play a Daggerclaw Imp with 2 Unholy Strengths attached to it.
Meddling Mage hates super secret tech.
I got Major grade 3 in halo
and thats it for now.

Apparently someone at microsoft and/or bungie had a sense over humor when relesing the mythic map pack. at midnight of thursday (its release) its release price was 99,999 microsoft points. (equivalent to $1,249.98[75] USD).
the sad thing is you know at least one person bought it.
other news: divine vs demonic releases today.
xbox live silver accounts can play in halo 3 social matchmaking for free this weekend, which consists of Rumple Pit, Social Slayer, Social Objective, Big Team Social, Team Mythic, Grifball, and Multiteam.

greatest music artists you never knew
Jonathan Coulton
you can't really describe Jonathan Coulton's music very well. The best dicribtion I could come up with was "Weird Al if he made his own songs, played the guitar instead of an accordian, and most of his songs were about insane people.
He has a total of two songs for DLC in Rockband, Scullcrusher Mountain, and Portal's Still Alive. Oh and he also wrote the theme song for G4's show Code Monkeys.

Since i haven't updated in forever (March is half way over?) i decided i would show some of the future articles.
1. GoW 2 explanations (probably the biggest on the todo list)

re:trouble in xbox...
Well luckily I got the Red ring again that I talked about like 3 posts ago again.
Wait...what?
Turns out I got the "Fake RRoD".
The RRoD looks something like this (i'm at school and can't post images here. Just imagine that its an Xbox 360 power button)

Turns out the cable shifted a little because my cat ran behind the TV.

Magic 2010
I don't know if you've read it yet, bot WotC has announced some radical new changes to Core Sets today.
Core Sets have always been the laughing stock of Magic Players everywhere. Essentially they are N00b sets that are just reprints of a whole bunch of crappy cards. No more.
This card tells us multiple things.
1. It is a black bordered set, unlike most Cores of the past.
2. It has new cards. (that is a first.)
3. M10? didn't we already have Tenth Edition? (more on this later)
4. No Future Sight frames. (Strictly speaking, this would have been the first set to be able to get them as Tenth Edition was too soon.)
5. Planeswalkers in the flavor text? That means...
Which means Mythic Rares are in the set! (15 of them, 6 of them new). And yes the rest of the Lorwyn Walkers appear too. which means 4 more mythics in the set that have already seen print will appear too. (Shards Walkers I'm looking at you.)
And classics reappear also.
Yes that is Serra Angel at it's original rarity, uncommon. Does this mean we will see Sengir Vampire drop rarity also? And maybe we will see White Knight after his reappearance in Legions.
Magic 2010 is the first of a yearly coreset release. (they Rotate out with Thier respective Blocks now.) next year there will be Magic 2011, etc.
So far the other info is that there will be a new cycle of Dual lands also. And only 8 of the 16 "Survivor Alpha" cards made it to this set. "Survivor Alpha" cards are cards that have been printed in every Core Set. With Tenth Edition the final 16 were:

Samite Healer
Grizzly Bears
Goblin King
Nightmare
Scathe Zombies
Drudge Skeletons
Bog Wraith
Giant Growth
Fear
Giant Spider
Howling Mine
Orchish Artillary
Regeneration

trouble in xbox land
Well, as i turned off my xbox360 tonight I saw a glimpse of the future and past.
It might have been a false alarm but i saw it. Again.
